About Our Motorcycle, RV & Boat Detailing
Motorcycle, RV, and boat detailing in the Black Hills runs $199 to $695 for motorcycles, $495 to $1,400 for RVs depending on length and oxidation level, and $295 to $895 for boats depending on size and hull condition. Add a ceramic coating and a full Sturgis-ready bike runs $395 to $1,100. These three vehicle categories define the Rapid City and Sturgis recreational market, and we built dedicated process for each one.
Sturgis Rally bike prep is the single biggest motorcycle-detailing market in the country during the first two weeks of August. Nearly half a million riders pour through the Black Hills, and Rally-week bookings at our shop fill up by mid-June. Our Rally prep includes: full hand wash with motorcycle-safe degreaser, chrome polish on every accessory and exhaust, leather seat and saddlebag cleaning with a UV-protectant conditioner, paint decontamination on the tank and fairings, optional ceramic coating for multi-year protection, and a final wipe-down before delivery. Post-Rally cleans handle the bug-storm and rain-grit that builds up across 10 days of riding.
RV detailing is shaped by oxidation. Class A motorhomes, fifth-wheels, and travel trailers stored outdoors in the Black Hills lose gel-coat clarity to UV within 4 to 7 years. Our RV oxidation removal process uses a wet-sand and compound-cut approach to bring the gel-coat back from chalky white to a deep mirror gloss, followed by a sealant or ceramic coating to lock the result in. We also detail interiors, roof seams, and slide-out seals because Pactola and Angostura tourism summers put real mileage on every system.
Boat detailing covers hull buffing, deck wash and stain removal, oxidation removal on gel-coat, and ceramic coating on fiberglass hulls. The Angostura and Pactola fleets we service are mostly wake boats, pontoons, and fishing rigs that take a beating from sun, water spotting, and trailer salt residue. A spring detail and a fall coating typically holds the boat through a full season with weekly hand-wash maintenance in between.

Motorcycle, RV & Boat Detailing Questions
How much does Sturgis Rally bike prep cost?
A standard Rally prep on a touring motorcycle runs $199 to $395. Adding a ceramic coating brings it to $395 to $695. Heavy custom paint, multi-color tank correction, or full chrome restoration on a high-end show bike can run $695 to $1,100. Free quote and Rally-week slot reservation by late June recommended.
When should I book for Sturgis Rally week?
Mid-June at the latest. Our Rally-week capacity is reserved each year and fills up fast. Riders coming in from out of state often book in April and May. We can also handle Rally-aftermath cleans the week after, which are easier to schedule on shorter notice.
How much does RV detailing cost in the Black Hills?
A wash and exterior detail on a Class C runs $295 to $495. A Class A with light oxidation runs $495 to $895. Heavy oxidation removal with wet-sand and compound cut on a 35 to 40-foot Class A runs $895 to $1,400. Interior detail, roof inspection, and slide-seal condition are typically scoped together. Free quote at your storage location.
Can you detail boats at Angostura or Pactola?
Yes, we offer mobile boat detailing at most Black Hills boat slips, storage lots, and launch ramps. Some heavy oxidation removal and ceramic coating work is better done at the shop because of temperature and cure requirements. Spring season is our heaviest boat-detail window. Book by April for May launch.
What is RV gel-coat oxidation and can it be reversed?
Gel-coat is the outer pigmented layer on RV fiberglass sidewalls and roofs. Over years of UV exposure it oxidizes from a deep gloss to a chalky white haze. The reversal process is a wet-sand to remove the oxidized layer, a compound cut to refine the surface, and a sealant or ceramic coating to prevent re-oxidation. Done right, a 10-year-old RV can come back to near-new gloss.
Do you handle side-by-sides, ATVs, and Jeeps?
Yes. The Black Hawk, Hermosa, and Hill City customer base runs heavy on side-by-sides, ATVs, and lifted Jeeps that take serious dust and mud abuse. We do full details, post-trail cleans, and ceramic coatings on these vehicles. Plastic-trim restoration is a common add-on because UV fades trim faster than paint.
